Achieving the tasks of democratic transformation and organizing the constitution making and arranging the processes for Free and fair elections.
The lack of a permanent constitution for the country represents a major challenge to establishing a democratic system, as well as its contribution to creating a fragile environment that threatens the process of achieving peace, freedom and justice, so it was important for the transitional period government to take the following measures:
- Qualifying state institutions and agencies to adopt professionalism through their role in the making process of the constitution and the election procedure.
- Community and political awareness of the importance of making a constitution through the process that enables broad community participation, as it leads to a constitution to which all groups of the Sudanese people agree, in order to achieve national and social peace and unity.
- Establishment of the Constitution-Making Commission.
- Create and activate the National Election Commission, review, amend, revise, and complete the civil and electoral registry.
- Activating social dialogues and conducting media campaigns to raise awareness of governance issues and promote peace culture and values of democracy and good governance.
- Prepare and arrange for the upcoming elections by creating an enabling environment and activating the electoral process mechanisms in all its stages including advertising, nomination, voting, and the announcement of results.
- Expanding political participation for people with special needs, activating the children’s parliament and forming basic associations and societal systems to protect and raise awareness of the requirements of democratization.
- Support and encourage the youth, women and war-affected sectors, especially the displaced and refugees to exercise their political and social rights.
