تطور الممارسات الزراعية الجيّدة (EUREPGAP):
بدأت فكرة الممارسات الزراعية الجيدة في العام 1997م كمبادرة من إتحاد تجار التجزئة الأوربي، الهدف منها وضع المعايير والطريقة التي تطبق بها مما يؤدي إلى تطويرها في دول غرب أوربا، بعدها شاركت مؤسسات من كل دول العالم في تطوير هذه المبادرة إلا أنها ظلت تحتفظ بإسمها. ومن ثم ظهرت الممارسات اليابانية والسويسرية والكينية والصينية وهي متوائمة بشكل شبه كامل مع الأوربية. بعدها في سبتمبر 2007 في مؤتمر في بانكوك تم تغيير الإسم إلى GLOBAL GAP. وللمنظمة مقراً في ألمانيا.
تعريف الممارسات الزراعية الجيّدة الأوربية:
هي عبارة عن معايير الإنتاج الزراعي التي تهتم بالممارسات الجيّدة والمتطلبات اللازمة للأنشطة الزراعية المختلفة داخل المزرعة.
التطور التاريخي للمارسات الزراعية الجيّدة:
1997-2001 بداية الفكرة ثم تم وضع أول معايير للممارسات الزراعية الجيّدة في مجال الخضروات والفاكهة الطازجة وتم تطبيقها في العام 2001م.
 2000-2003 وضع معايير للممارسات الزراعية الجيّدة في مجال الماشية والأغنام والدواجن، وإنتاج الألبان وتم تطبيق هذه المعايير في العام 2003م.
 2001-2003 وضع معايير للممارسات الزراعية الجيّدة في مجال إنتاج الزهور والنباتات الطبية والعطرية وتم تطبيق هذه المعايير في العام 2003م.
 2001-2003وضع معايير للممارسات الزراعية الجيّدة في مجال إنتاج محاصيل الحقل وتم تطبيق هذه المعايير في العام 2003م.
 2004 تحديث معايير الممارسات الزراعية الجيّدة الخاصة بمجال الخضروات والفاكهة الطازجة وغيرها من المجالات.
 2007تحديث القواعد ونقاط التحكم الخاصة بالممارسات الزراعية الجيّدة في جميع المجالات على أن تطبق على المشروعات حديثة التسجيل بداية من يوليو 2007م ثم تدخل حيز التطبيق على جميع المشروعات من أول يناير 2008م.
واليوم أصبحت الـ GLOBAL G.A.P برنامج لإعتماد المَزارع الرائدة على مستوى العالم والذي يُترجم متطلبات المستهلك في صورة ممارسات زراعية جيّدة تُطبَّق في مجموعة متزايدة من البلدان تشمل حالياً أكثر من 100 بلد. وقد  تم إنتاج أكثر من (100,000) مواصفة معيارية مدققة ومراجعة بشكل دقيق وعلمي وهذه المواصفات المعيارية دمجت وتكاملت في إصدار جديد لعام 2007م. وهي وثيقة الصلة بالأمور التي قد تقلق المستهلك وكذلك الأمور التي لها علاقة بتقنيات الإنتاج.
نطاق تطبيق الممارسات الزراعية الجيّدة:
يشمل نظام الـ GLOBALGAP النطاق العام الذي يغطي المواضيع العامة المتعلقة بطبيعة الإنتاج على مستوى المزرعة بالكامل، ومستوى المحاصيل الزراعية، ومستوى الإنتاج الحيواني، ومستوى المزارع السمكية. ويشمل أيضا النطاق الفرعي الذي يغطي المواضيع الخاصة بتفاصيل الإنتاج حسب نوع المنتج من خضار وفاكهة ، محاصيل حقلية ، بن أخضر، الشاي، الزهور ونباتاتات الزينة، الماشية والأغنام، الألبان، الدواجن، الأسماك مثل السالمون. وأي نطاق فرعي آخر تتم إضافته خلال فترة سريان هذه الوثيقة.
مجالات تطبيق الممارسات الزراعية الجيدة:
1/  إنتاج الخضار والفاكهة والمحاصيل الحقلية.
2/  الثروة الحيوانية (بما فيها منتجات الألبان).
3/  الثروة السمكية.
4/  إنتاج نباتات الزينة وأزهار القطف.
5/  النباتات الطبية والعطرية.
6/  إنتاج القهوة (الخضراء)، والشاي.
ومن المهم جداً أن يتم تطبيق الشروط القانونية على متطلبات مواصفة الـ GLOBALGAP، حيث يتوجب على المنتج الالتزام بالقوانين المحلية في بلد المنشأ في حالة تشددها قياسا إلى متطلبات مواصفة GLOBALGAP، ويتم تقييم مستوى التوافق مع القوانين على أساس أنها إلزامية ويجب تحقيقها بنسبة 100 %. في حالة عدم وجود قانون أو تشريع محلي – أو في حالة تشدد مواصفة GLOBALGAP عن القوانين المحلية – فإنه يتم التوافق مع مواصفة GLOBALGAP كحد أدنى للتوافق المقبول.
نقاط التحكم الخاصة بتطبيق معايير الممارسات الزراعية الجيّدة قسمت إلى:
أ- نقاط أساسية: (ملزمة) Major  يجب ان يطبقها المزارع بنسبة 100% حيث أنها ملزمة مثل وجود مخطط لوحدة الانتاج/ المزرعة. ويجب تقديم أدلة على التوافق لكل نقاط التحكم الأساسية التي تتطلب توافق بنسبة 100%. ولا يمكن منح شهادة المطابقة في حال عدم تطبيق أي بند من هذه البنود التي تمثل نسبة %22 من مجموع البنود والبالغ عددها 214 بنداً. (49، وتميز باللون الأحمر )
ب- نقاط ثانوية: Minor يجب أن يطبقها المزارع بنسبة 95% منها، مثال لها تقييم المخاطر الصحية وسلامة الأغذية ( إلا أنها تحتوي على بعض البنود التي يجب تطبيقها). (99، وتميز باللون الأصفر )
ج- نقاط موصى بها:  Recommended وهى إختيارية يمكن تطبيقها بنسبة 50% مثل إعادة تدوير المخلفات العضوية وتحويلها إلى كمبوست دون مخاطر. (66، وتميز باللون الأخضر)
ويجب مراجعة كل نقاط التحكم عن طريق جهة منح الشهادة.
