She worked as a national consultant with UN Women in Sudan and supported the integration of women’s rights in peace agreements and mechanisms. Participated in and contributed to several regional and international initiatives to promote women’s rights and ensure their protection in conflict situations.She then worked as an expert for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Kuwait and established a regional project to promote women’s rights through legislation and judicial mechanisms. She holds an honors degree in law from the University of Khartoum and a master’s degree in public law from the University of Khartoum and a master’s degree in human rights law and dispute resolution from Queen’s University in Northern Ireland / UK. She has worked as a lawyer since the early 1990s and has been involved in important cases in support of the rights of Sudanese women.
