Social development and environmental preservation.

The majority of the population of Sudan depends on the environment and natural resources and that is in the absence of a clear institutional and legislative framework of environmental governance. There’s also less strategic projects targeting vulnerable segments (The elderly, women, youth, children, and persons with disabilities). The former Social security mechanisms were not related to each other and therefore did not succeed in lifting those segments out of poverty, nor in providing them with care and the required protection.

The transitional phase adopts an integrated policy and program package that includes:

  1.  Developing national research plans and projects in the areas of energy, renewable energy, health, housing and social security, water, and food security in addition to preserving the environment.
  2.  The development of directives for the expansion of applied research and technology transfer to link scientific research with development plans and apprehending poverty.
  3.  Activating the activities of community colleges in universities and linking them to community service centers.
  4.  Inclusion and empowerment of all social segments, especially children, persons with disabilities and special needs in political and social participation and defending their rights.
  5.  Establishing platforms and institutions for environmental policies aimed at exchanging knowledge and integrative planning for it to be environmentally friendly and sustainable for natural resources.
  6.  Activating social protection strategies through integrated visions of the role of social security mechanisms and strengthening the concept of partnerships, cooperation and coordination of efforts. And incorporate the principle of the green economy to protect the environment.
  7.  Activating the role of civil society organizations and the private sector to achieve sustainable development goals.
  8.  Activating social media and raising awareness through localizing the mechanisms of community dialogue.
  9.  Create a work program that is transparent and fair and that provides an appropriate environment for access to Social protection.
  10.  Activating societal rehabilitation and community awareness programs to support social initiatives in all areas.
  11.  Establishing and activating an information database that includes all vital government data and statistics and linking them to the unified network of government institutions and making them available for interest Stakeholders, including the social-economic survey for Sudan through community participation and the private sector.
  12.  Commitment to international agreements and decisions related to population and social development.
  13.  Establish and support coordination forums for community issues at the level of Sudan’s states and localities.
  14.  Supporting stability and social fabric programs and enhancing the role of local communities in development.
  15.  Develop, implement and integrate environmental laws and sustainable development goals and protect human rights and Social responsibility within the framework of corporate implementation operations.
  16. Establishing a national campaign to promote the desired human behavior to accompany change and uphold the values of justice and dignity, transparency, accountability and ensuring compliance with the ethics of public and voluntary work.
  17.  Organizing environmental awareness programs, preserving the environment, biodiversity and climate change.
